What may and may not be published on Suno Novels. It applies to audio, text, titles, synopses, cover art, and creator profiles. Copyright is handled separately, in the Copyright and Rights Policy.

Not allowed at all

  • Sexual content involving minors, in any form, including text, audio, or art, and including characters described as adults but depicted as children. Reported to the authorities, account terminated immediately, no appeal.
  • Non-consensual sexual content presented approvingly, and sexual content involving real identifiable people without consent.
  • Incitement to violence against a person or group, or content promoting terrorism.
  • Hate content targeting caste, religion, region, language, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, or disability.
  • Content prohibited by Indian law, including anything that would breach the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.
  • Impersonation of another creator, narrator, publisher, or public figure.
  • Malware, phishing, fraud, or attempts to move listeners off-platform to pay for the same content.
  • Manipulation — artificially inflating plays, downloads, ratings, or earnings by any means.

Allowed with a maturity rating and gating

  • Violence, gore, and horror appropriate to the genre.
  • Sexual content between adults, described rather than pornographic in intent.
  • Substance use, crime, and self-harm depicted as part of a narrative, not as instruction.
  • Strong language.

Rate these honestly at upload. A mature work published as general audience is a policy breach in itself, separately from what it contains.

Required disclosures

  • AI-generated or AI-assisted works must be declared at upload. We do not restrict them — much of our own catalogue is written this way — but listeners are told.
  • Origin: original, licensed, or public domain, with the document or basis, per the Creator Agreement clause 3.
  • Narration: whether the voice is human or synthesised, and if it clones a real person's voice, the written consent of that person.

How we enforce

Reports from listeners and creators go into a triage queue. Depending on severity we may take no action, warn, restrict, unpublish the work, or terminate the account. Every action carries a reason, is recorded in the audit log, and is visible to the creator, who may appeal once to a different reviewer.

Serious categories — the first list above — are acted on immediately and reviewed after. The rest are reviewed before action.

Reports are also abusable. Mass-reporting a creator does not by itself remove anything; reports are weighted by the reporter's history, and coordinated reporting from linked accounts is itself a violation that costs the reporters their ability to report.

Appeals

One appeal per action, to a reviewer who did not make the original decision, within 30 days. Decisions and their reasons are given in writing. Beyond that, our Grievance Officer: [Name], [grievance@sunonovels.top].
